Do you ever have those days when your to-do list continues to get longer and longer, but you decide to do everything BUT what is on your to-do list?
I’m the guiltiest of guilty of doing this. These past few weeks have been tough for me in terms of transitioning from my summer to school mindset, and my productivity lately has demonstrated this. Instead of working on my biology project, I chose to dust my room. I then preceded to continue on the cycle of off-taskness and procrastibaked the night away. Typical.
This is so unusual for me and my perfectionist ways, but in a way, I think it has been a good learning experience. I’ve learned that sometimes making progress isn’t the most important thing in the world. So what I didn’t check off every dang thing on my massive to-do list? I made some freaking awesome cookies and enjoyed them instead. Granted, I did have to spend the rest of the weekend slaving away on my homework, but it was nice to have a little me-time. In fact, because I took a little time away I was able to come back to my work with a fresh mind and a cookie-satisfied stomach.
On the other hand, I also have my days where I feel like superwoman, whipping out everything tha needs to be done all before lunch. These days only happen though when I start my day off with a little caffeine. I haven’t been having my usual cup of joe in the morning the past few weeks, and I am certain that this has played apart in my recent unproductiveness. Coffee has magical powers in motivating me, and I sometimes wonder how people can get anything done without it.
I have always been one to gravitate toward the plain-jane black cup of joe to give me that extra energy boost, but the other afternoon I was in need of a major pick-me-up and a latté was the only thing on my mind. And I’m not talking about some froo-froo frappuchino, I mean a protein packed, slightly sweet treat to power me through that three o’clock slump. Thus, the Cinnamon Roll Iced Latté was born.
Not only was this drink incredibly easy to make, it was also much healthier and cheaper than a latté you would find at a commercial coffee shop. The cinnamon roll collagen protein mix from WakeShake also adds the perfect amount of sweetness to this recipe, while delivering countless nutrients and a healthy dose of protein. This latté is the equivalent of a Starbucks speciality drink but half of the price and calories. That’s a win-win-win in my book.
Now keep calm and drink coffee.
- 1 cup brewed coffee
- ½ cup almond milk
- 1 tbsp WakeShake Cinnamon Roll Collagen Protein

- Fill a mug to the brim with ice and pour the brewed coffee overtop.

- Drink up!
